Makeup Revolution Cover and Conceal Palette Review

Hello my beauties Wow I feel so happy to be sitting here again typing another blog post.  I have been having nothing but not so great luck since the summer started.  Between my littles ones breaking out in chicken pox and then my laptop giving up on me I have not been the best with getting blog posts up.  When I did eventually get a new laptop (delighted with myself) it ended up been faulty and now I have to wait longer for a replacement :( but I am trying my best to get some blog posts up even if it takes me 2 days to do it as this laptop is so slow.  On the plus note I got nominated for the Irish Blog Awards this year I am on the long list for the Best Beauty Blog Even getting nominated has put a huge smile on my face and thank you for those of you who nominated me :) :)

So enough gabbing lets get on with the review
Today I am going to share with you my thoughts on the New Makeup Revolution Cover and Conceal Palettes.  I infact was super excited when I heard they were coming out with this as this is what I have been looking for to build up my kit.
So I ordered 2 shades even though I wanted all of them.  I said I would try these and if I like them go back and get the other one.
Well I have to admit I am kind of glad I did not get the other one and I will tell you why shortly.

You are getting an outer packaging to protect your palette which is handy.  The palette is plastic and to be honest will get every finger mark possible but to be honest not a big deal.  Inside the packaging is whats more important.  When you open The palette you are greeted with a lovely sized mirror and 8 different shades of concealers :)

The shades available online are Light
Light-Medium and Medium-Dark for each of these palettes they cost only £6 which is a fair bargain for what we are getting :)  The best thing is you are going to find one of these palette suitable for you no matter what skin tone you are

As mentioned about I got two palettes
Starting of with Light-Medium which I purposely got because I am quite tanned and know alot of the shades will match up to my skin tone.

I have to admit I was very very pleased with the colour variation this palette gives.  Most shades are yellow toned for people with medium skin tone.  Some of the shades are very light and perfect to use under the eyes.  We all need different toned concealers for our needs for instance,  Lighter concealers to highlight under our eyes, face etc.  Matching concealers for blemishes and pigmentation etc so you are getting the right amount of shades to mix and match with and also to match up with you skin tone.
I have to admit this palette is the one I reach for quicker.  As for the darkest shade well it does suit me for contouring in the day time but to be honest I find if I use too much it can be a little too orange.

The Next Palette is Medium-Dark

This surely is a different shade of palette :) and very suitable for anyone with medium to dark skin tones.  Again like the first palette the shades are more on the yellow toned side.  As I have seen by swatches from other bloggers on the Light palette there are more of a mixture of yellow toned and pink toned shade where as these two dont seem to have any pink toned shades.  You are getting both light and dark shade in this palette and alot of these shades I wouldnt use.  I find the second last shade is more suitable for detailed contouring especially if I want a darker contour for going out in the town.

Now what you have been waiting for my thoughts
Well I can say from using these for the past 3 weeks that am 50/50 about these palettes.  To be honest I have expected a little too much from these palette and maybe this is why I am a little disappointed.  After all When it comes to concealers I have high expectations.  The whole point of concealers in my eyes is to hide things we dont want seen.  For me its pigmentation and also those blasted dark circles I have been blessed with most of my life and the fact they worsened since becoming a mummy.  That and also blemishes.  Well these palettes have not reached my expectations I am afraid and I will tell you why
The formula feels amazing it feels creamy and smooth and very easy to apply.  What I did find with the formula is that is too feels oily.  The fact that its oily leaves it applying patchy to the area you want to apply.  I found the coverage is not full coverage and no matter how much you build this concealer you will not get the full coverage you desire.  You will only get medium cover which certain will not cover up the darkest of circles or pigmentation.
I find it doesnt cover my dark circles well and I feel I have to use another concealer over it before I am happy with the finish.

I also tried using this for highlighting and contouring and I have to admit I was happy with the result at first.  It looked brilliant and even after setting the concealer with a translucent powder it looked perfect.  Throughout the day I found it did fade but it also made me look more oily than usual.  I do suffer with an oily t-zone but with this used as a highlight made me look more oily in the day.

If you are one who suffers with dry skin you will like this as it does give moisture to dry areas.  Overall its not a bad palette for ones who do not suffer with very dark circles and for ones who do not suffer with many blemishes but for ones who have alot to cover I would give this a miss in my opinion :)
Well thats it from me today.  Have you tried this palette yet?  What is your thoughts on it :)
Until next time

Rummaging Through my Rubbish Bin: My Empties #3

Hello Beauties How are you all today :) :)
I have been gathering my rubbish for a while now and thought it was about time I was to literally throw these out in the bin as they were getting in my way.  Not before I show you what I have finished up first :)
I love these kind of posts as you know for sure you are going to get a more in dept review on the items and find out if the person will or even has already repurchased :) So without further ado let me show you my junk lol

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water:  One of my favourite cleansers of all time.  I have an in dept review on this so I am not going to go into great detail here but its just awesome.  This stuff has more power in it than you think.  It removes makeup brilliantly.  I love using this even on my no makeup days when I want to refresh my face as is so cooling and soothing I feel so refreshed after ward.  I must have repurchased this about 4 times since I first started using it and will continue to do so :)

Loreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Micellar Solution:  This is basically the same thing as the Garnier Micellar Cleaning Water only half the bottle to be honest I would rather the Garnier because you are getting more for your money ;)

Garnier Express 2 in 1 eye makeup remover:  This is also currently on offer in boots for only €2.89 and I will be also stocking up on this.  I find this brilliant for removing my waterproof mascaras and eyeliners.  You mix the 2 liquids together and place on a cotton pad hold it to your eyes for about 10-20 second and rub off gently.  You will be amazing how well this breaks down your makeup.  Yes you will find it oily even after you use it but nothing a wash of the face and a wipe over with Garnier Micellar Water wont take away again ;)

Garnier Simply Essentials 2 in 1 Makeup Remover:  This is currently €2.59 on the boots website and I am surely stocking up as it is absolutely brilliant removing eye makeup especially waterproof makeup.  It literally removes everything  There is no perfume or no alcohol in this which means no stinging of the eyes :) :) For such an affordable price you can not pass it :) Obviously people with oily skin might be cautious about this as there is two liquids in this and basically you have to shake the bottle to mix the two together but the oily bit I find doesn't leave any residue whatsoever unlike some oily makeup removers do :)

e.l.f Daily Brush Cleaner:  What can I say I am absolutely obsessed with this stuff.  Honestly this stuff is brilliant for spot cleaning your brushes and now that they have added a more attractive scent to the cleaner its making me love it more.  Honestly if you are one of the one who never liked the smell of this stuff and it stopped you from buying it again, go buy it now as the scent is beautiful.  As long as this is selling I will be buying.  I love how nice my brush smells every time I use it and it leaves them nice and soft and ready for use again the only downfall I have is that I wish they would bring back the bigger bottle (the first bottle in the picture) as its so much handier and saves buying a handful of them every time I buy them the bigger bottle was better value too PLEASE ELF BRING BACK THE BIG BOTTLES AGAIN :)

Loreal Elnett Satin Hair Spray:  Currently selling in boots again for 400mls €8.89 this hairspray has to be my favourite hairspray at the moment.  I can not believe i have not tried this until lately and I will be repurchasing.  Its just amazing.  It smells amazing it holds amazing and even the next day your hair is literally as smooth and soft as before you applied it.  There is so many to choose from you will find one suitable for your own needs or for your hairs need.

VO5 Mega Hold Gel Spray:  This is for all you gals out there who have naturally curly hair and sometimes need the fuzz to calm down.  You know when your hair is nice and curly then you step out into the rain and it ends up fuzzy well this stops that happening :)   The only thing is that it will leave your hair really stringy if you using too much and also if you are up styling and use this your hair will feel hard so use very sparingly.  Either that or get a bottle with less strength as you can see this bottle is maximum strength

Bourjois Radiance Reveal foundation:  You all know this is one of my favourite foundations around.  If you haven't seen my review on it click here.  The shade I have used up is the lightest shade (51) which does me in the winter time when I'm at my palest but at the moment I am using shade 53.  I like to use this during the week as its medium coverage and feels light weight on the skin.  I also love how it photographs well as you will see in the photo in my review.  I have also used this foundation on people in their 40's and they absolutely adore it on their skin as it does not soak into fine lines or enlarged pores :)

Catrice "The Giant" Extra Volume Mascara:  1 of my favourite Catrice mascara's and unfortunately since a month ago this has been discontinued.  I loved everything about this mascara from the brush to the formula to its performance it gave great volume and length.  You can still get your hands on it if you are lucky and its half price to clear the stock so if you see it GRAB IT!!!!

Cover Girl Flamed out Mascara:  I got this in a swap with another blogger from the US and to be honest I am deeply saddened that this has ran out.  I adored this mascara its amazing. Check out my blog post here

MUA Extreme Volume Mascara:  This is another mascara I liked for day time looks.  Its not intensely black but gives enough volume to make your lashes noticeable check out my post on it here

Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara:  Another mascara I truly loved check out my post here :) this actually lasted me the longest out of the above 4 it lasted a full 4 months which is brilliant

Rimmel Scandaleyes Thick & Thin Eyeliner:  I wasn't a happy camper when I purchased this but I did continue to use it until it dried up and to be honest it did not take long for it to dry up either if you want to find out in detail my thoughts about this check out my post here.  Overall this has not and will never be a repurchase

Catrice Liquid Liner:  I wasn't a fan of this to be honest and never really made the effort to finish using it either.  I found that it was great to apply and it was super black but also found it got patchy and dried up into little flake on my eyes.  Not matter what way I applied it be it with the brush it came with or with a different brush or even lightly it still was very dry and felt very dry on the lid.

Now you have seen my rubbish I can finally throw them out :) until the next lot builds up haha.  Is there anything you like in my rubbish bin?  Has it reached your rubbish bin yet?
Is there anything you haven't tried but want to try now ?  Are you a blogger who has posted up an empties blog post or video ?  If you are and have please share :)
Until our next rubbish chat

Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette What you waiting for? Review

Hello my gorgeous readers I hope you are all well :)
Finally the chicken pox has calmed down and now I can get down to business and get back doing the other thing I love which is blogging :)
Of course I have to come to you with yet another Makeup Revolution Review and be warned there will be lots more :)  As you know Makeup Revolution has become really popular over a short time and that is because A) they do pretty good makeup B) they are super affordable and C) They keep surprising us with more and more new products
This palette is in fact one of their newest editions along with other palettes in which of course I will be showing you in due course :)
Let me just warn you that these are in fact Limited Edition so if you like what you see grab while you can ;)
There are 5 palettes up for grabs at the moment and each one of them cost £6 :)
Each palette contain 18 shadows altogether which works out you are paying 0.33p per eyeshadow not bad eh?
Today I am going to show you the What you Waiting for Palette which contains mostly neutral shades for both day and night looks

As you can see by the outer packaging that the 18 shades are broken down into 12 shimmery shades and 6 matte shades genius

I love the packaging as it a nice size to fit in your handbag or travelling bag.  When you open the packaging thats where the magic begins :)
You will see a full sized mirror before you and the perfect put together affordable palette you will ever see :)
Not only that it reminds me so much of the Sleek Eyeshadow Palettes where you get the plastic see through cover over your eyeshadows and the names of each eyeshadow on it.  Not only that but the both 6 shadows are to spitting image of the Sleek Eyeshadows :) :)

So Lets talk shades :) :) :)

The first row of shades are perfect for a day time natural look

We are getting
We Love You :  This is a perfect wake me up eyeshadow for all over the lid its also perfect for the inner corners brow bone etc.  This shade is a nice warm satin champagne.   The colour payoff has been surprisingly pigmented and lasts all day

Tick Tock:  Another warm shade this time is a pink toned beige shade also great for the lid it gives a satin finish and is highly pigmented

Cant Find the Brake:  This is literally the same shade as Tick Tock only a shade darker I love it as a lid colour too and it really makes my hazel eyes pop I find with is more flaky than the first 2 shades so you will have a little fall out with it

Moving Car:  This is a stunning pink mauve shade and has a lovely satin finish.  Very pigmented and works great with the first 3 shades

Do It Alone:   This stunning shade of purple again works brilliantly with all the shades above it have a satin finish and blend will with Moving Car and Cant find the brakes :) Highly pigmented and much darker in swatches that in the pan

Sex Chromosome:  A Blackened Purple with red shimmers this is a stunning shade but less pigmented than the rest in my opinion.

The Second Row

Now Its Only Me:  A Frosty baby pink this is adorable and one of my favourites I adore this shade all over the lid as it brings the green out of my hazel eyes.  This shade is highly pigmented and more effective when patted on the lid :)

Scary Conversation:  The best gold I have ever swatched in a drugstore palette.  This little beauty looks feels and applies amazingly love it

Take a Chance:  A Beautiful rose pink shade this again is chalky but very pigmented and and again makes green eyes pop

Shut my Eyes:  This is a more bronzey brown with tiny little red specks and stunning shade when the sun shines on it.  This gives between a metallic and satin finish and very pigmented

Stupid H:  A Deep Purple with a slight reddish hue this shade is soft creamy and very pigmented

Life is Short:  A nice sparkly charcoal shade :) highly pigmented and easy to blend

Next up is the Mattes :) :)

Your Capable:  This shade quite chalky so be careful when picking up with the brush as you will pick up too much.  You are getting the perfect blending out harsh lines and matte brow bone colour here a nice matte champagne.  This is literally the matte version of "We Love You"

Super Hot Female:  A Perfect skin tone shade this colour is perfect for blending and is very pigmented

Million Dollar Contract:  A lilacy pink shade another blending shade well pigmented and easy to work with

Hot Track:  A nice purple almost verging towards a brown purple and much more deeper than the first 3 shades a perfect crease shade for daytime looks.  This shadow is again very pigmented and blends brilliantly

Brand New Fans:  Of course we need a chocolate brown in the palette for that day time smokey eye look and thats what we got :) This shade is another perfect crease or Outer V colour for the daytime smokey eye

Wicked Style:  A matte black of course comes in handy for the night time looks and even the daytime liner looks when we do not want a heavy liner look.  I have of course used this on the out V which I have to admit needs building and blending building and blending and I have used it wet for eyeliner.  This shade is chalky so expect fall out.

Overall I am impressed with this palette.  I know its another neutral palette amongst the many many neutral palettes I have to my collection but i have to say this one is one of the best affordable ones out there as to been well thought out.  Each and every colour compliments each other.  There is literally not one odd one there.  I love how easy these are to apply and how blend-able they are even the mattes.  I highly recommend you try this out especially with the fact you have matte shades there to play with.  It makes life so much easier rather than trying to rummage through you eye shadows to find a matte shade to blend out the harsh lines :)
I havent tried these shadows without primer on the lids as I have habit now to apply a primer over my lids before using any eyeshadows but with primer these last all day long (8 hours) and thats good in my eyes for a £6 palette :)

Here is a look I created using the What you waiting for?  Its literally a simply smokey eye look for day time or even night time :)  Click on the photos for a closer look :) In this photo I used a mixture of pinks and purples and this made my eyes pop as you will see in the photos below the eye-shadows I used was "Not its only me" all over the lid Then "Moving car" on the outer lid blending it inwards in the crease I used "Shut my eyes" and on the outer V I uses a mix of "Se Chromosome and Stupid H"  for blending I used "Million Dollar Contract and for Brow Bone I used "Your Capable"

I hope you enjoyed my review :)
Until Next time

Makeup Revolution Finally Sold Out Collection

Hello my beauties I hope you are all well :)
First of all let me explain why I have been a bit slow with posts for you
I at the moment have 4 kiddies who have broken out in chicken pox but before they broke out they were all in bad form for a few days and this is why I have not been posting as much.  Obviously mummy duties comes first and I know they will need alot of TLC for the next 2 weeks so forgive me if I continue to be a bit slow.  I will try my best to keep you entertained with posts as much as I can as i have so much to share with you
Todays post is on the Makeup Revolution Collection" Finally Sold Out".  I have already shared with you a single eyeshadow collection called Out of this World Merged Eyeshadows which are amazing :)

Just to let you know there are originally 6 eyeshadows with this collection but one of them broke in postage (I got fully refunded for the shadow but never got round to repurchasing)
If you buy this collection (all 6 eyeshadows) you are only paying for 5 of them which is £5 for the lot.  You can of course purchase them separately so if you spot one you like but dont want the rest of them you can easily opt to buying them single which cost only £1 each

As you can see by the photo above this collection is more on the neutral side which might interest alot of you out there.  So let me give you a closer look :)

First on the list is

Base:  This is the perfect wake me up eyeshadow you could literally get away with wearing only this on the lid and throw on a bit of mascara and out you go.  This beautiful Satin Champagne shade is a multi-use eyeshadow and I love it.  I use this as a high light for the inner corners for my brow bone, cupids bow and even my cheek bones :) :) This is amazingly pigmented and so soft and creamy I love it :)

Next up is

Adore Moi:  Another stunning shade even though looking at the pan it looks like a simple medium brown shade its more than that.  Its a stunning bronzed brown and looks amazing on the lid also.  This shade is the perfect companion for "Base" hugely pigmented , soft and creamy
Another amazing colour to have in your neutral collection

Next is

Good Life:  Awww one of my favourites for sure.  This shade is especially beautiful for anyone with hazel or green eyes as it makes your eye pop.  A stunning satin pinky purple shade I have nothing like this in any of my eyeshadow collection I absolutely adore it.  Its so highly pigmented, soft and creamy.  I just love it

 Next we have

Sold Out:  Another Bronzed Brown this time a shade darker and has slight tint of purple in it.  This shade works beautifully with "Good Life" and to be honest I have been wearing this and "Good life" mostly this week along with the next shade I will be taking about.  This shadow verges more to the shimmery rather than the satin side but still as pigmented as the rest

Last but not least

Make It Happen:  A Perfect crease and outer corner shade for a day time look.  This is a deep bronzey brown and just finishes off the collection perfectly.  This has more of a shimmery finish than a satin finish but highly pigmented .

Here is the swatches altogether arent they fabulous and I would also like to add that I did these swatches with no primer underneath (ye I know amazing :)

Overall these eyeshadows are beautiful and I cant fault them what so ever.  They are amazingly pigmented and with a primer underneath last all day long until you take off your makeup.  The longest I have worn these eyeshadows was 12 hours and with only the tiniest fading in which I literally only noticed due to looking at my magnifying mirror I can safely say they last just as long as high end eyeshadows.
This collection is definitely worth getting especially if you have hazel or green eyes as I find each shade brings out the colour of my eyes more :)  Thats not saying they will not suit everybody as they are neutral shade so they are made to suit all.
Here is a look I created using Base in the inner corner and brow,  Goodlife all over the lid, Sold out in the crease and outer lid and Make it Happen in the outer V mixed with a little black from a palette.  I also used a skin tone colour to blend out all the harsh lines.  On the bottom lash line I only used a mixture of Goodlife and sold out all along the bottom lash line and a little black along the outer bottom lash line.

So there you have it yet another thumbs up for Makeup Revolution and in-case you were wondering what the missing shade is its "Finally" which is a shade darker than "Base" :)
Check out the collection on Makeup Revolution Website :) :) Have you tried these yet?
Until Next time

Blank Canvas Cosmetics E28 Ultra Fine Liner & E39 Bent Liner Brush Review

Hello My beauties I hope you are all well
Wow I think its been a while since I did a Review on Blank Canvas Cosmetics which is surprising as I have a good few new brushes that I added to my collection and haven't shared with you all tut tut naughty me. I have been asked so many times whats eyeliner brushes I recommend or what eyeliner brushes I use.
Well today I am going to show you 2 brushes in particular that I have been using on an everyday or near everyday basis.
Both of these brushes are especially for gel liners, but to be honest I have found myself using these instead of the brushes that come with liquid liners aswell :)

Both brushes cost only €6.99 each and I personally think everyone should have these in their collection, if you cant afford the 2 there is one in particular you should definitely go for :)  If you are one who finds applying gel liner hard one of these brushes are going to make your life so much easier I promise :)  I know what its like to apply eye-liner, its one of the most hardest part of makeup we can go through and to be honest even to this day I go through my hardest days.  Its all so easy with pencil or even with felt tip but when it comes to use gel liner which is my favourite liners its so so hard to get the flick right or the cat eye look right without making a complete mess.  Having the right brushes is one of the steps to that perfect look

First of all we have the E28 Ultra Fine Liner Brush

This brush is every newbies answer to achieving the perfect percise line.  This hugs your lashes allowing you to achieve the thin line you want.  With its dense bristles you will find you will not go wrong when tracing you lash line but it also has a little flexability to allow you to achieve that perfect cat eye flick you dream of achieving.  I especially love using this to create the flick perfectly because there is no way you can mess it up with this brush

The way I use this is simple.  I pick up just the right amount of liner be it gel/cream or liquid and sit the bristles on top of my lashes starting in the middle.  Then I run the brush along my lashes which instantly gives me a nice thin line.  Then I move the brush with the remaining liner to the inner corner of eye and run that along to meet with my starting point.  The best thing about this brush is that you can build the liner up to achieve a thicker line depending on what you want.  The size of the brush allows you that control.   I like to use this when I just want that simply thin line and thin flick.

Next up is the E39 Bent Liner Brush

This brush is a legend !!!!! Honestly Ladies Fear not anymore on doing your eyeliner perfectly !!!!! This brush is amazing and really only for it I wouldnt be so good with my eyeliner today.  I have to admit this liner brush will be a god send to anyone who does their own makeup.

So lets talk about the bristles first they are firm unlike some liner brushes which come off as flimzy.  They are not overly firm but firm enough to create the perfect thin or thick line you desire.  This brush contains more bristles than the E28.  Having more bristle mean more product is picked up and enough to create your perfect line and flick.
I also have to add these bristles are synthetic which means not only can you use this with gel/cream and liquid liners but also with any eyeshadow colour you desire.  How?  By simply dampening the brush and dipping it into whatever eyeshadow you want to use.

Now for the purpose of the bent liner brush !!! This allows you to hold the brush further down instead of literally sticking your nose to the mirror and holding your breath and hoping you do not breath while drawing your line lol yes i know you all do it I do it too.  With using this brush you can stand back away from the mirror and still be able to see what you are doing due to the bend.  The curve of the brush when you hold it up to your cheek literally sits on top of your lashes and allows you to create you line without you dodging to see what you are doing when using a more straighter brush.  I know what its like my hand gets in the way of my vision sometimes and its literally hit or miss when you end up in that predicament.

These brushes are my favourite eye liner brushes of all time and I would honestly be lost without them.  I honestly believe if you have the right eyeliner brushes you will in time be able to achieve whatever liner look you want.  For the price they are both amazing and well worth buying.  They are so easy to clean and have never let me down.
Have you tried these brushes yet?  What are your favourite liner brushes :)
Dont forget if you are thinking of buying these brushes From the Blank Canvas Cosmetics site Stick in the code "NINA" in the discount code box for a little discount xxxxx

Until next time
